~~madalas reality shows.  naku adik kaya kame sa reality tv.  pag mondays, wala masyado kase usually lumalabas kme dahil late na.  noon pag modays trip na trip ko ang everybody loves raymond.  pag tuesdays naman charmed, minsan mismatch.  pag wednesdays, hmmm teka di ko maalala eh.  thursdays naku yan, masaya kme pag thursday kase dami daming reality shows. merong apprentice, simple life, gotti, dami nila. aliw. ay isa pa pala. yung big brother thailand, ewan ko ba aliw na aliw ako di ko naman naiintindihan!

nagpagupit na nga pala ako, ang init kse eh.

dati halos hanggang waist na yung hair ko. ngayon medyo maikli na sya ulit.

exhausted is not even close to what i was yesterday.

friday is usually a good day for us because we don’t have to go to school til 6pm.  but the recent friday was different. i got a call from my boss at around 2pm.  he was in bangkok then as he had several meetings to attend to. anyways, yeah, he called me and said he was sick and he needed me in bangkok to attend the meetings for him.  it would have been okay but this time i had to go alone. my hubby couldn’t go with me because he had classes and had to teach my classes for me.

now, i haven’t travelled alone since i got married.  so i was kinda freaked out.  had to take the bus, there aren’t any flights from our place to bangkok after 5pm.  the bus, was appalling.  roaches everywhere. needless to say, i didn’t get any shut eye.

arrived in bangkok at 4 am. reached my bro’s place at about 5, i think.  slept for less than 2 hours, played with neice and nephew.  took at bath at 10am, left at 11am. started the meetings at 12:30 and was at the airport by 3 in the afternoon.  boarded the plane at 4:15 and got home at 6pm. 

felt like superwoman, with a terrible migraine :p

taught 7 hours straight today.

i’m surprised i have time to blog.

my dad’s name is Merwin.  my mom calls him Mer and sometimes uses this neckname when talking to other people and referring to dad.  but he has always been PAPA not only to us, his children, but also to all his neices and nephews, grandsons and granddaughters.  while my cousin’s dad remained uncles and titos, my father got stuck to being the PAPA.

my mom’s nickname is thel, but most people call her Ka Thelma [haha sounds so abu-sayyaf-ish].  she is "mang" to her family.  i know these sound hilarious but they’re actually much much better than the name my grandma intended to gisve her: DEBUTA.

my eldest brother, Arnel, has Nel for his nickname.  but we rarely call him that.  to me he doesn’t sound lika a Nel.  his wife calls him Nel.  maybe he sounds like a nel-kind of person to her.

Jayson.  he’s probably got the weirdest nickname: Jing-Jing. i know it sounds girly and it seems to be a sissy’s name, that is why i think it is weird because he is anything but those things.  my parents and kuya arnel call him Jing.  his wife sometimes call him that too.  heck, my whole clan calls him Jing.  all but me. he has always been Kuya Jayson to me.  hmm, maybe not always as i call him by his other nick, HAPON.  our friends in Lipa know him by that name.  it’s because he has got these japanese eyes.  he used to hate it but later got fond of the name.

to his highschool and college buds, he is JAY.

now on to ME.  hoooraaah.

i remember people calling me Kayin when I was younger.  my mom said i couldn’t get my R’s right and always answered "Kayin…" when people asked me my name.  my grandma and aunts call me Yin-Yin.  nah, I don’t look like a Yin-yin, but i get a warm feeling when they call me that.  my other aunt calls me Ren-Ren, which i used to hate by the way.

later on during hiskul, i decided i wanted to be called Kai.  took it from Kayin.  i was Kai til I graduated from college.  most of my family and friends still call me that.

i became a kat, a katkat, a katie, and a kate in Thailand.  it changed as i changed employers.  Karen is a difficult name for the Thais.  they’d always say Kalen instead of Karen.  that is why I am a Kate now.

it sometimes weirds me out when family and close friends call me Kate.  i prefer to be Kai to them.

but i have two nicknames i like best, Mhey and Bie.

only two people are allowed to call me that.

my hubby and my dad…err my papa.

We are now officially…… (drum roll, please) rock, paper, scissors [jack en poy] addicts!!!

I read this article from reader’s digest talking about a group of people competing in the Rock, Paper, Scissor national-something.  It was hilarious at first but when I reached the middle part of the article, I found myself..hmmm…interested.  I got some pointers from there and wanted to test my theory.  Sino pa ba ang victim?  Eh di si Allan, hehehe. [hmmm, ngayon ko lang ata nasulat ang name ng hubby ko ah...Dee, di ka na anonymous!]  So I figured that he is a ROCK-person.  And I was right!  We started our match, first one to reach 5 wins.  He threw a rock as I thought he would.  I won the first round, and the second and the third.  He wasn’t aware of it but he was dead set on throwing rocks on the first fight.

I decided to tell him about it.  Wish I hadn’t cause now he’s like analyzing me too.  I hardly win now,  I’m lucky if I get a draw.

Funny lang kse last night, right before we went to sleep, I said:  “O game,jack en poy.”  He did the chanting.  He threw out scissors, I had paper.  I lost.  Asked for another round.  He gave out paper, I threw rocks.  Lost again.

This game sucks.
